Michela Chamonal

With a background in politics, psychology, and urban planning, Michela brings a human-centred perspective to urban mobility. At BYCS, she channels her passion for human behaviour and urbanism into managing the global Bicycle Mayor Network: a dynamic platform that she sees as a powerful example of how local advocacy, connection, and representation can drive real change in cities.

Michela is especially interested in the intersections between mobility, social innovation, policy-making, and psychogeography. She strongly believes that being able to move freely and safely through urban spaces is not just a basic right, it’s essential to people’s happiness and well-being.

At BYCS, Michela is dedicated to strengthening the relationship between individuals, communities, and healthier forms of mobility. Through her work she supports changemakers around the world by fostering collaboration and helping grow locally-rooted initiatives. Ultimately, she hopes to contribute to the creation of cities that are more inclusive and designed with people at their heart.
