I am an enthusiastic cyclist, who has volunteer experience for more than 20 years. I am someone who can challenge people to do what they find fun and exciting. In 2019 and 2020, I attended two courses at the University of Amsterdam: ‘Unravelling the cycling city’ and ‘Alternate narratives on mobility’, which made me aware of the impact of the current choices we make regarding mobility.
What are your plans as Bicycle Mayor?
I want to focus mainly on safety and infrastructure. I want to develop a digital platform where all knowledge and people can come together to make cycling more attractive and to tackle unsafety. My main ideas are for commuters and street cyclists who encounter dangerous situations. Also for the low income target group and local entrepreneurs around the project ‘for every child a bike’.
