Lotta (8 years old) is the first Junior Bicycle Mayor of Amsterdam and the world.
Why Lotta?
She was elected by manner of a design challenge. In the Netherlands part of the public transport system consists of a bike sharing option. Lotta won the design challenge with the idea to introduce public transport bikes for kids, and public transport tandems in addition to the regular ones.
What is the next step?
In the coming months Lotta will work together with Katelijne (Amsterdams Bicycle Mayor) to make cycling in the city even safer, better and more fun for kids.
