My name is José Gálvez L. I am 46 years old and I am the leader of the cycling group #BarrioSantaVictoriaMTB from the city of Chiclayo. We are passionate about mountain biking and cycling at a medium pace as a means to learn more about my northern land.
I like to interact with the cycling community and coordinate with all the cycling leaders in the city to organize various events and support each other. We also coordinate and support our authorities and governmental and private organizations in family bike rides and competitions. Moreover we also hold campaigns of diffusion and support to the cycling community and/or cycleways.
What are your plans as Bicycle Mayor?
As objectives, we would like to:
- Coordinate with the municipality and the regional government the recovery of the cycleway of the city that lately has been removed.
- Train some cycling clubs of Lambayeque and Chiclayo to later form a League of Cycling in the city.
- Promote the use of bicycles as a means of transportation for high school, college, and university students.
- Provide facilities for workers who use this means of transport with a safe, fast and effective bicycle path from the outskirts to the centre of the city completely articulated. Currently, the few bicycle paths are isolated from each other.
