My plans for the term:
– Work with Torbay Council to create and improve local cycling infrastructure, demonstrating the popularity of cycling through local ‘critical mass’ and ‘kidical mass’ rides.
– Use my existing platform of Safe, Sustainable Travel Torbay and develop a network of local cycling champions in the smaller town areas of Torbay to create local influence.
– Explore measures to increase access to e-bikes through trial schemes, retailers and advocacy, liaising with local employers to improve uptake of active travel.
– Request the default speed limit for residential sheets be reduced to 20mph to encourage and improve the safety of walking and cycling in Torbay.
