My name is Alma Angelina Gutiérrez, and I have been an urban cyclist since 2012. Convinced that the bicycle is not only for sport, but is essential to urban transportation, I use the bike to move around the city; I also take the opportunity to meet the needs of those who go to work or attend their daily activities using the bicycle. Through activism, I aim to resolve the need for road safety for urban cyclists here in Hermosillo.
What are your plans as Bicycle Mayor?
My main plan as Bicycle Mayor is to achieve compliance with the local government to install safe and gender-sensitive bike racks in public places such as public service offices and shopping centers to solve an often-asked question “where do I leave my bike?”. With this, I would take the initiative to the State Congress to make this a law through an official decree.
