Satya Arikutharam is an Independent Consultant with over three decades of experience in transport policy, planning, project management and business management. His work in the UK focused on rail planning and policies, business cases for mobility projects and several transport planning advisory services to both public and private sector clients. He recently served as the Chief Technical Advisor to the Directorate of Urban Land Transport, Government of Karnataka where he headed the Policy team and provided key inputs to the TOD policy, BMLTA Act and the pioneering draft Active Mobility Bill. He is passionate about creating several active mobility cities and towns in India where cycling becomes a natural choice for urban commute.
