DONATE

CareGiving Month is a new initiative from BYCS that seeks to spotlight and support women caregivers in low-income urban communities, who often face disproportionate challenges in their daily mobility.
We’re driving €200.000 which will directly initiate and sustain projects in 4 participating cities.
Why Caregivers?
Women caregivers often carry the heaviest mobility burden: combining childcare, household duties, and economic participation.
Care-related trips are usually short, chained, and involve carrying children or goods, even though they are trips well-suited to cycling.
Many caregivers depend on walking, public transport, or cycling but face barriers such as limited access to bicycles, lack of cycling confidence/skills, or missing resources like child seats.
Lack of targeted programs for women caregivers leaves them with limited access to safe, affordable, and sustainable transport options.

We are an Amsterdam-based global NGO guided by the belief that bicycles transform cities and cities transform the world. We envision an urban future in which half of city trips are by bicycle by the end of the decade. To help achieve this we nurture, strengthen, and scale community-led cycling initiatives globally, striving towards the bold vision that we call 50×30.
Donations to BYCS go towards supporting mobility projects around the world, implemented by our networks of Bicycle Mayors and Partner organisations.
