Explore the impact of our work and be part of our bold plans for the year ahead

We have come a long way as an organization since we were established just three years ago and we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved in the last year in particular. Through our Bicycle Mayor network, CycleLabs and portfolio of campaigns, projects and programs, we have shown in cities around the world the incredible change that is possible.

As a mission-led organization, it’s essential that we constantly track this impact. In this first edition of the BYCS Social Impact Report 2018, we lay out the foundation, practical approach and clear outcomes of our work in 2018. In this way, we can reveal the full power of the BYCS social enterprise model – which adds value to each of our clients and partners – as well as use the insights of the report to understand how to sharpen our approaches and create even greater impact.

The report also gives us an opportunity to set out our bold plans for the year ahead. For example, the Bicycle Mayor network is now active on every continent but we want over 200 Bicycle Mayors by the end of 2019. CylcleLabs are allowing for extraordinary new ideas to develop and grow, and bringing people together to create transformative collaborations – we want 10 permanent labs set up this year. And there’s more – from launching a new Bicycle Architecture Biennale, to giving shape to our Impact Index for cities, relaunching our Bike to Work program, and ensuring all our established programs become available ‘off the shelf’ for anyone who wants them.

The year ahead also provides a range of opportunities for organizations that wish to be part of this progress. We are looking for partners who share our vision to come forward and join this work. Together, we can accelerate the journey to 50by30. We can transform our cities. We can make every place healthy, happy and prosperous, increasing the quality of life for people across the world.

Let’s never stop asking ‘Where can the bicycle take us?’
