Amit Pothina

Amit is a student pursuing his master’s in Transportation Sciences at Hasselt University, with a specialisation in transport policy and planning.

He is from India and currently resides in Belgium. While pursuing his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering he conducted internships in the automotive sector, qualitative research, logistics and smart city development. With time and experience, he realised that he was fascinated more by regulating and researching transport systems rather than building it. This drove him towards pivoting to the field of transportation for his master’s degree after graduation. He is an active member of Youth for Road Safety (YOURS) as an advocate for safe roads.

Amit is currently researching the role of bicycles in a triple bottom line city and impact assessment of BYCS’s programs.
